O Nata Lux - Saxophone part

Soprano saxophone part. This work is written for SSAATTBB and Soprano saxophone. Commissioned by Sam Corkin, Canterbury Cathedral Choirand the Palimpsest project. From the preface by Fredrik Sixten. "Inspired by the works of Tallis, O Nata Lux is a hymn of praise. The starting point is melancholic and dark - but in search for the light. The journey circles around certainty (tonality), or uncertainty (atonality), reflecting our experiences in life. A quote by the Nobel-prize-winning Swedish author Tomas Tranströmer expressed this very convincingly: "In the midst of the forest there is an unexpected glade to be found only by the one who is lost" That dwelling place could be the holy space of Canterbury cathedral or wherever one can find faith, hope and love so that we can be able to continue to strive ahead in life" I was thrilled to be one of the composers chosen for this marvellous Palimpsest-project where the past and present were able to meet in a new inspiring way.
