"Inception
Inception betyr begynnelse en første del eller stadium av etterfølgende hendelser. I denne sammenhengen skapelsen av verden og alt liv på jorden. Åpningen av stykket beskriver tidenes morgen en tilstand der alt er øde og tomt, hvor lyset etterhvert skilles fra mørket og vi får dag og natt. Elementer av stykkets hovedtema kan allerede her høres i de lavere instrumentene livskraftens tema eller Guds ånd om man vil.
Videre gjennom stykket beskrives skapelsesberetningen, og Guds ånd gjennomsyrer hele prosessen. Himmel og hav, trær og planter, og etterhvert skapninger både over og under vann blir til. Som det siste leddet i denne utrolige prosessen skapes mennesket, gjennom fullbyrdelsen av hovedtemaet for Gud skapte mennesket i sitt bilde. Avslutningsvis beskrives en verden i fred og harmoni der skaperverket er fullbrakt.


Inception
Inception means beginning a first part or stage of subsequent events. In this context, the creation of the world and all life on earth. The opening of the piece describes the dawn of time a desolate and empty state, where light separates from darkness and we get night and day. Here, elements of the piece s main theme may already be heard in the lower instruments theme of vitality or the spirit of God if you will.
Throughout the piece, the story of creation is described and the spirit of God permeates the entire process. Sky and sea, trees and plants, and eventually creatures both above and below the water are made. As the last step in this incredible process, human being is created, through the completion of the main theme because God created mankind in his own image. Finally, a world in peace and harmony is described, and the creation is completed.

Martin Bjørnland (1986)
Martin Bjørnland er utdannet ved Universitetet i Oslo hvor han tok sin bachelorgrad i musikkvitenskap og ved University of Salford hvor han tok sin mastergrad i komposisjon. Martin tjenestegjorde også i musikktroppen i Hans Majestet Kongens Garde som førstetrombonist, gruppeleder og arrangør.
I tillegg til å skrive og arrangere musikk arbeider Martin som dirigent og instruktør. Han har dirigert skolekorps og storband, og har også skrevet mye musikk for disse ensemblene.


Martin Bjørnland (1986)
Martin Bjørnland holds a bachelor degree within musicology from the University of Oslo and a Master of Arts within composition from the University of Salford. Martin also served in the band and drill company of His Majesty the King s Guard as lead trombonist, section leader and arranger.
In addition to writing music, Martin also works as a conductor and teacher. He has conducted young bands and big bands as well as writing music for these ensembles."
