Ro, ro til Siraland er en folketone fra Sogndal. En catchy versjon som kan brukes som oppstart på konserten med innmarsj og det hele. Opprinnelig ble arrangementet gjort på bestilling fra Sogn og Fjordane Ungdomsbrassband.





Frode Rydland



Frode Rydland forsøker å være så allsidig som mulig og har skrevet stykker som spenner fra tradisjonell brass- og janitsjarmusikk til arrangementer som inkluderer fiolin, kor, orgel, band, fløyte og trommegarde, trekkspill, sekkepipe og til og med to Harley Davidson motorsykler!

I 2004 vant Rydland The Fodens Richardson Award for beste komposisjon og etter det har han prøvd å ha tid til å komponere mer. Stykket "Den siste draumen" ble urfremført i 2007 på BrassWind i Bergen og i 2008 skrev Rydland stykket "The Nix" på bestilling fra Smørås Skolemusikk og Eirik Gjerdevik. I 2009 vant han konkurransen om å skrive fanfare til Florø bys 150 års jubileum.

Ut ovr dette har Rydland arrangert eller komponert musikk for en rekke korps og ensembler og flere av disse er utgitt på et stort antall CD-innspillinger.

Row row to Siraland



Row row to Siraland is a folk tune from the Norwegian county of Sogndal. A catchy version which a great concert opener with opportunity for the band to enter on to the stage one by one.

This arrangement was originally a commission from the Youth Brass band of the Norwegian county of Sogn og Fjordande.







Frode Rydland



As an arranger, Rydland tries to be as versatile as possible. He has written works spanning from traditional brass- and wind band music to arrangements including fiddles, choirs, organ, accompaniment group, flute and drum corps, accordion, bagpipe and even two Harley Davidson motorbikes!

In 2004 he won the Fodens Richardson Award for best composition and after that Rydland has tried to to focus more on composing. At BrassWind, a Norwegian contemporary musicfestival in 2007, the premier performance of the piece ?Den siste Draumen? (The last Dream) took place. In 2008 Smørås Schoolband and Eirik Gjerdevik commissioned the work ?The Nix? for the National Schoolband Championships, first section.

He has written and arranged music for a numerious bands and ensembles and many of these are featured on several CD-recordings.
